For todays’ blog I’m going to share my experience in eating this dish and I’m going to share with you guys the ingredients in this dish and the procedure in cooking this one of the delicacy food in the Philippine.

To begin with I’ve remember when I was 7 to 10 years old my grandmother cook this delicious and appetizing dish when its a festival in our barangay and special days like Christmas, New year and lastly Birthdays. Back when i was in the elementary days i’ve remember my grandmother cook this delicious Afritada dish and pack with a special lunch box and eat it in the school when its lunch time and i remembered that everytime my grandmother cook this dish my lunch is always empty its because the dish was delicious especially when its done the dish is so tempting because of the texture and the specifically pleasant flavor that is why this dish is one of my favorites food in the Philippine Dish. I’m very grateful for my grandmother because she always cook a delicious food for me and also with my family.

The Ingredients for the Pork Afritada Dish are :

  • 2 lbs pork shoulder cubed
  • 1 piece Knorr Pork Cube
  • 3 pieces hot dog sliced
  • 2 pieces carrots sliced into small wedges
  • 2 pieces potato cube
  • 8 oz. tomato sauce
  • 3/4 cup green peas
  • 1 piece tomato cubed
  • 4 pieces dried bay leaves
  • 1 piece onion chopped
  • 6 cloves garlic chopped
  • 3 cups water
  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste

So lets proceed to the Instructions in cooking this dish:

  • Heat oil in a cooking pot.
  • Once the oil gets hot, saute onion and garlic until onion softens.
  • Add pork Saute until brown.
  • Pour tomato sauce and water. Stir and let boil.
  • Add Knorr Pork Cube. Stir. Add dried bay leaves. Cover and cook in medium heat for 30 minutes. Note: Add more water if needed.
  • Add hotdogs. Cook for 10 minutes.
  • Add carrot and potato. Cover and cook for 8 minutes.
  • Add green peas. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Season with salt and ground black pepper.
  • Transfer to a serving plate. Serve.
